HaloSource CEO accepts one of 25 top innovator and entrepreneurial awards
Seattle, WA- October 16, 2008 – John Kaestle, CEO HaloSource®, a Bothell-based company, has been awarded one of twenty-five Innovator and Entrepreneurial awards by Seattle Business Magazine for 2008.
Kaestle, a twenty-five year veteran of the global business market, received the award under the Consumer Goods and Services category for his efforts with HaloPure®, a point of use water purification technology used in developing countries and emerging markets.
“Waterborne diseases kill almost 2 million people each year and over 1 billion people lack access to clean drinking water, said Kaestle. “I believe that everyone, regardless of where they are, should have access to safe drinking water. That’s what gets me up and excited to come to work in the morning.”
The water purification technology developed at HaloSource is unique to its kind. Killing 99.99 percent of disease-causing bacteria and viruses from contaminated water, HaloPure is now used throughout India and quickly moving into other markets.
“We have operations in India and recently opened a new plant and offices in China. Our biggest hurdle now is commercializing HaloPure and getting it to the people who need it most,” said Kaestle. “It’s quite an exciting time for us.”
